Snickerdoodle

Snickerdoodle is a crunchy cookie that is very sweet on the inside, and that is just what this boy is! Snickerdoodle, or "Doodle" for short, was trapped in error when a CARA volunteer was trying to trap a visiting feral cat. At first glimpse, Doodle looked like a tough street cat... his nose is a little scarred, his ear is a little torn, there was a scar on his paw, his coat was dry and brittle, and he was too skinny... at only 1-2 years old!

Upon realizing which cat was in the trap, the volunteer decided to have him checked out by a vet anyway, as he had been seen outside for the past few months living on a neighbor's front porch and chasing birds in the street, just barely missing getting run over. The neighbor was contacted about the cat, and the CARA volunteer was told that the cat had put outside, "hoping someone would take him because of allergies in the family". It was obvious that this cat would not be treated the way he needed to be treated at this home and the cat was relinquished to CARA.

After a few months in a loving home, his true colors began to show. With perfect litter box habits, Doodle made himself right at home! He greets his foster parents each day when they come home from work with a big purr and plenty of lap time. Doodle comes to bed each night with his foster parents, as well. It quickly became obvious that Doodle's days of street fighting were most likely to get any scraps of food he could over the cold winter in which he was thrust into.

Now Snickerdoodle has gained weight, is a big strong boy, and has made friends with many of the cats in his foster home, including the kittens! He really is a great big furry ball of love who just needs someone to appreciate him for all the sweetness he has on the inside!
