Soot was one of the many "Shed Kittens" that seem to show up every time you turn around kittens born under sheds (or sometimes porches) to stray or feral mama cats. Shortly after Soot and the rest of his family appeared, a big snowstorm hit the area. Luckily Soot and his mama and sibling found shelter inside the shed and made it through the winter. The owner of the shed tried for some time to catch the little family, and finally she succeeded. Since the weather was so bad this past winter, they stayed at the vet hospital until the weather got nicer or (better yet) until they could find homes with loving families. Soot's sister was adopted, leaving Soot and his mama. His mother looks a lot like Soot, but she is quite shy and will need a special adopter. Soot is about 8-1/2 months old now. He is timid with strangers, since he wasn't handled as an infant. But he is willing to be your friend, if you are willing to give him time to trust you. A few treats and some teaser toys and plenty of patience will soon win his heart. He is a sweet little boy with a charming personality, and cute as a button. Those amazing whiskers are for real these pictures are untouched by Photo Shop! Soot is up-to-date on vaccinations and negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and FIV. If you are interested in adopting him, please call Beltsville Veterinary Hospital at 301-937-3020 and ask to speak to Alana (leave a message if she isn't there).
