Lucky & Weasley

Lucky

Lucky and Weasley are neutered males who were adopted from a shelter several years ago. They were mature cats at the time, and they are now approximately 12 years old. Lucky is the gray/brown tabby, and Weasley is the orange cat with white trim. Lucky's name was a good fit when he was rescued from the shelter before his time ran out, but when his adopter's circumstances changed, poor Lucky's luck ran out. The two cats were boarded at a vet hospital "until they could find a new home." In fact, no payment was ever made and it turned out that the cats had been dumped. So once more they are looking for somebody to adopt them – hopefully for good this time.

Although they are not young cats, they are currently in good health and should have some good years ahead of them. Weasley was diabetic for awhile but has reverted to being non-diabetic. However, he needs to be monitored, since he could become diabetic again, in which case it will be permanent. Strange though it sounds, this sometimes happens with cats.

Both Lucky and Weasley are very handsome cats with good dispositions. They are calm and easy-going and friendly with people. They get along with other cats too, and would probably do well with a gentle, cat-friendly dog. Like many seniors who have been through plenty in their lives, they have learned to take things in stride and adapt to new circumstances. The new circumstance they would most like to adapt to would be a good home with a loving family. They have been together for years and would love to be adopted together if possible.

Lucky and Weasley are up-to-date on vaccinations and are negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and FIV. If you are interested in adopting Weasley and/or Lucky, please call Beltsville Veterinary Hospital at 301-937-3020 and ask to speak to Alana (leave a message if she isn't there).
